The year 2015 has been a significant year for us in terms of partnerships, instituting scholarship, being recognised as a premier film and media institute, initiating events with an objective to spread media education and lots more!

Partnering with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for Under Graduate & Post Graduate Degree Courses: In our constant endeavour to ensure proliferation of Film & Media education, we have partnered with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The coming together of the academic pedagogy of TISS and the well-established practical rigour of our curriculum has ensured a perfect partnership to offer the best Film & Media education to our students. We offer TISS accredited degree courses in filmmaking, animation filmmaking, screenwriting, fashion design, acting, media and communication studies, and music production and composition.
Got listed in the Forbes India (Issue: March 2015) ‘Connoisseurs of Education’: Forbes India has featured us as one of the most influential institutes of India under ‘The Indian Institutes 2015’ – a special initiative by SkillTree Global Knowledge Consortium & Great Place to Study Research Institute
We have been certified as a ‘Global League Institute’ by Great Place to Study Research Institute (GPTS) on November 19, 2015 at a prestigious venue – House of Commons, UK by Rt. Hon. Virendra Sharma, MP.
Announced ‘Dilip Kumar Scholarship’: The ‘Dilip Kumar Scholarship’ instituted in January 2015, was given to students, who performed meritoriously well in the admission process. This scholarship covers tuition fees at our institute for the period of the academic course.
Announced ‘Editing Scholarship’ in association with the Motion Picture Association, for two boys from the NGO, ‘Salaam Baalak Trust’.
5thVeda: Our cultural hub, is an initiative by our Founder & Chairman, Subhash Ghai, to connect the younger generation with the art and technique of all classical art forms, like drama, dance, music, painting, poetry,and contemporary arts. We had guests of international repute and acclaim, who shared their valuable time and experiences with our students. Singers like Hariharan, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shankar Mahadevan, Arijit Singh, musicians like HariprasadChaurasia, L Subramaniam, Mathias Duplessy, Mukhtiar Ali, Lesle Lewis, dance exponents like Deepak Majumdar, Terence Lewis, Ashley Lobo, stand-up comedians like Sorabh Pant, Azeem Banatwalla, Aditya Desai, Johny Lever; were among the many esteemed guests we had at the weekly 5thVeda event.
ABAI Outstanding Educator Award: Our School of Animation won the ABAI Outstanding Educator Award 2015, at the ABAI Fest – KAVGC Summit 2015.
State-Of-The-Art Media Lab From Foxconn Technology Group: This media lab provides our students with access to cutting-edge media equipment, supports their academic learning and enables them to gain practical and hands-on experience of working on filmmaking equipment, built with the latest technology.
YouTube Space Mumbai: YouTube has partnered with us to set up India’s only YouTube Space. Through this collaboration, India’s popular upcoming YouTube creators, as well as our students, will have free access to our studios, high-end audio, visual and editing equipment, in addition to training programs, workshops and community events.
Celebrate Cinema 2015: ‘Celebrate Cinema’ – an annual event, was conceptualized in the year 2012, to pay homage to the ‘Indian Cinema’ that was entering into its centennial year. This year, with ‘Digital Media’ as the theme, the event shared insight into how technological innovations have had an impact on cinema. With over 2000 film and media aspirants and enthusiasts, and more than 25 industry experts to share insight, this 3 day event was a roaring success.
‘Inspiration’ in USA: we kicked off our Inspiration Knowledge Series in USA with workshops and seminars that focused on offering authentic information about Bollywood to film aspirants and enthusiasts residing abroad. The event was presided over by filmmaker and our Head of Academic Affiliations, Somnath Sen.
Doosra Chashma: A film festival organised by Laadli – A Population First Initiative in association with Whistling Woods International brought forth the contribution of women in the society. Film, an effective and powerful medium to talk about an issue, was chosen to talk about gender sensitizationin today’s day and age as an issue, at the event.
Our Founder & Chairman, Subhash Ghai was awarded at IIFA 2015 for his Outstanding Contribution to Indian Cinema. He has been honoured as the ‘Education Evangelist of India’ by SkillTree India, a Global Knowledge Consortium, and has also been conferred to as the ‘Visionary of India’.
It’s been a great year for us and as we step into another year we aspire to grow bigger and better and continue to offer the best in terms of film and media education.
